Just started a new Chainmaille hauberk over christmas.
Already made one on my last deployment to Afghanistan and hopefully will complete this one by the time I come home on midtour leave which if the stars align correctly will be just in time for Lillies war in the kingdom of Calontir.
This time i'm using a 6in1 weave instead of a 4in1 weave. tried wearing my 4in1 for a couple rounds of heavy combat and wound up with several hours of repair work.
Hopefully the 6in1 will stand up to the abuse better. and if not i have a suit of 4in1 riveted planned which will definitley stand up to the abuse of being battered with hunks of rattan.
I will be posting pics of my progress as I go along along with pics of a lamellar kilbanion which i will hopefully be making from ammo cans. at least that's my plan, which is why I packed a angle grinder, files, Drill, and a stockpile of various grinding discs and blades in one of my duffel bags.
